This time is was early enough to come up with a solution It ain't great but it will have to do.
Enough, barring the annotation and updating the render behind the room level plan is complete. ![]()
Working on the lobby floors again now, and producing the section through a 3D model, that will be in turn used for the views/renders. The section (background & basic lines) should be done by the end of tomorrow, detail and masterplan drawing to follow, thats hopefully done on to the 20th, then I'll start the structural model. whlist working on a front elevatiom to show materiality. after that? Who knows, probably rendering over all views of the project and other stuff.
Just a couple of shots of my hotel currently.
Next step i'm taking is to work out the floor plates for the rooms, got some models on the go for that too.
once thats done those will inform me of the primeter conditions of the facade and allow be to start exploring that by cutting into the the existing shape.
Elevations of the the latest model.
Some views.
The ground condition, (on a old model), but the same ideas will apply. Raising the site up about 2m then of sinking the hotel into that, and cutting into the river edge walkway at the opening of the atrium, allowing views, using vegitation to divide public viewing areas and event(bar intergrated) areas. Stair access directly near the exhitibion space, a seperate service enterance may to need to be added to the staff area of the glass workshop. the size of deliveries. would be a factor, if the requirement is small, a staff enterance on that side may be acceptable for material deliveries. Equipment collections and service can be done on the atruim base or the service enterance of the other side.
First of all it helps if the print out show all the lines. But nevermind
OK so reading the brief and the user is simple.
The process started with the models & drawing in blue, using that i found what i wanted the hotel & workshop to achieve. An atrium that feeds as backyard to a number of hotel rooms as well as a circulation that doesn't feed toward the workshop as a main feature as the hotel is likely to have occupants that aren't there necessarily there for the glass workshop.
This left me with a atrium and corridor (wing) type arrangement.
This was when simplified to a single line, marking the circulation around a standard floor of rooms.
Then a system of skewing, distorting and pinching (interpreted from techniques in glass blowing) was used on the wall paths to to create a meandering path, that waits to reveal the end path once users get to a certain point.
The bottom then shows the first attempts to create forms on rules based on a minimum of one skew per a straight section.
This can then be extended furthered to integrate the site. and lines of extent.
The section you see shows the stumping of the from as a environmental strategy and the triple high space of the lobby and the levels taken by the hotel.
The section cuts through the axxo via the short length (inc the ramp)
The atrium is at the back and
The formal ezpression hasn't been decided yet either you dumbies!!!
That is all
Just lost an entire post becuase of the stupid upload feature. not going to bother now. Maybe on the weekend.
